Finding out about chocolate in Sydney, Australia and beyond!

Yummy! I came across Jeff de Bruges in the city the other day whilst walking to the train station. I didn't know it existed, but it's on King Street, near MLC. It's a French owned shop but with Belgium Chocolates. On entering the shop I was greeted and offered a sample... well that meant I had to find something to buy... which wasn't too hard as there were many chocolates that sounded quite tasty. I got a bunch of chocolates and ended up sharing them. Very nice chocolates, nothing spectacular, but leaps and bounds better than the Lindt chocolate from the Lindt shop and 1000% better than the Haighs truffles I tried the other day! So I give them 4/5.

Chocolate Koala Site

New Website for the new business. Eventually we'll have the packages displayed but it will mainly be for people who want to find out where to purchase Chocolate Koala's merchandise. Aren't the logos pretty?

Had some Haigh's truffles on Saturday... hmm... what should I say? The truffles were in a ballotin and wrapped in Haigh's gold wrapping paper. I tasted a white chocolate lemon flavoured truffle as well as a milk/dark champagne truffle. Very very average. I didn't pay for the truffles so I don't know if it is balanced against the cost, but I've had a lot better even packaged in a retail box!
Definitely didn't taste as if it was made using fresh cream, but rather some cream compound... Maybe we got a bad batch?
I'll rate it 2/5 as I suspect it cost a lot of moola!

Yum! Rusty and Nat brought us a bar of Lindt Grandes Noisettes from Switzerland. Talk about yum! I love hazelnut chocolates as long as it's not too sweet. The dark chocolate was the perfect fit. Now... does this version exist in Australia?

I've had the milk version which is great, but this is heaps yummier!

I rate this one a 5 out of 5

PS. For whatever reason GOOD quality chocolate never makes me want to eat too much of it!? Well I can stop and just savour the taste from the one or two pieces I break off rather than gorging on the whole bar! Or maybe I'm just maturing... and getting old! WAAAHHHHH!

In praise of chocolate business cards... (plasticbag.org)

I agree with this blog entry ! But then I'm prejudiced since Custom Chocolates does exactly this type of thing. Customising chocolates for corporates to give away as gifts, in the shape of business cards or a logo!

The chocolate wrappers museum

Chocolate Wrappers from around the world!

This site has an amazing collection of different chocolate wrappers. I'm impressed at how many there are!

See them at mujweb.cz/www/chocolate...

Had lunch in Neutral Bay yesterday and wandered down past some of the shops on Military Road and came across Le Patissier. They have some lovely tortes, pastries and of course, chocolates. There were some hollow boots and Christmas themed handmade chocolates for just less than $10.
I didn't buy any chocolates as they looked busy and I needed to be back over in front of the restaurant to wait for Nikki...
